Periodontitis, also known as pyorrhea, is a series of inflammatory diseases that affect the periodontium, that is, the tissues that support and surround the tooth.
For the treatment of periodontitis, the root surface must be cleaned and polished.
Supragingival and subgingival plaque and superficial endotoxin containing cementum layers must be completely cleaned. This is a prerequisite for the regeneration of periodontal tissue.
