Inositol is myo-inositol, a B-vitamin like compound that is used for the formation of phosphatidylinositol, an important cellular component. Inositol is also a precursor for an important compound involved in signal transduction in the brain.* Inositol has a role in cellular defense and in regulating the normal growth and differentiation of cells. It may also help the body metabolize fats so they dont accumulate in the liver.*
